Arriving at Windsor Hills: A Family Check-In Checklist

Arriving at a new vacation rental with kids is much easier when you know the first few steps. Here’s a quick Windsor Hills Resort arrival checklist from The Primrose, our family-designed vacation home in Kissimmee, Florida, close to Walt Disney World.

1. Save your check-in details before travelling

Windsor Hills is a gated, registered-guest-only community. Your host should provide the check-in instructions and arrange the guest registration. Keep your booking confirmation, rental address and any gate instructions handy. Drivers should bring a valid driver’s licence for arrival at the gatehouse.

2. Use the main Windsor Hills entrance

For GPS or rideshare, the resort lists its main gate as 2600 N Old Lake Wilson Road, Kissimmee, FL 34747. The alternate Livingston entrance is for staff and service use. The gatehouse is staffed around the clock. Your rental’s exact parking allocation and any extra-vehicle approval should be confirmed directly with the host.

3. Pick up your free amenity wristbands

Once you’re settled, stop by the clubhouse Welcome Center to collect free registered-guest wristbands. These are required for the heated lagoon pool and Sir Windsor’s AquaVenture waterpark. Standard published hours are 8 a.m.–10 p.m. for the resort pool and clubhouse, with waterpark hours subject to seasonal and operational changes. Confirm the day’s schedule when you arrive.

4. Let everyone enjoy a slower first day

Windsor Hills offers a clubhouse cinema, games room, playgrounds, sports facilities, a fitness centre and a Marketplace & Grill. Families can explore plenty without immediately heading out to the theme parks. The Primrose also has its own screened private splash pool and themed rooms, so home time can be vacation time.

5. Get ready for the Disney parks

If Disney World is on your itinerary, download the My Disney Experience app to manage tickets, restaurant bookings and day-of park plans. Disney’s date-based tickets generally do not require a separate park reservation, but some other admission types do. Check your ticket rules before travelling.

Windsor Hills does not provide a complimentary theme-park shuttle. Plan to drive or use a rideshare for your park days.

Our favourite arrival-day tip: give the kids time to unpack, explore the home and enjoy an easy pool evening. At The Primrose, the whole idea is a home-away-from-home vacation designed by a family, for families.
